Quick study of houses I saw on a drive at night.

Really ambitious piece...putting together all of the things I wasn't able to do--a sniper, sci-fi armor, a dinosaur, and a sci-fi landscape with large-scale architecture.

Picked the one I wanted and messed with it a bit more.

Value comps--kind of difficult. I picked the first one.

Color comps...Maybe I did too many. Or too few?

I could only narrow it down a little bit. On the one hand, she's a sniper. On the other hand, the style I'm going for is very bright and colorful. Hmm.

The atmosphere is breathable with a filter. I started with helmets because it may or may not be the only part of her body that's visible under the camouflage cloak.

 

Drew some dinosaur skulls (Pterosaur, Theropod) and put the crest I wanted on them.

Basic build of the creature--Pterosaur wings and a modified small Dromaeosur body. Don't know which head I'm doing yet.

I haven't picked a head yet but I wanted to try different poses for the creature.

Also, I've noticed that blogger is changing the colors of some of my images and over-saturating them after I upload them. I don't know why it's happening but sometimes the colors look almost neon.

I label these schoolwork but really I'm having too much fun with them.

So here's the fifth piece for ART401--process and final color before critique. I modeled the pot and the house so I could get the correct perspective.

Color tweaks, fixed the tombstoney rock at the top to not look so morbid, yep! Looks much better now.

I wanted to do a piece in the style of Yasuyuki Honne, who did the background art for Chrono Cross and Baten Kaitos.

 

I went with 6.

Finalized Gryphon

Got some critique and finished off the Gryphon!

Finished up the Castles, started on the Gryphon--and that is the Gryphon in Gryphon-Shifter. Process for the Gryphon included.

ART 401 Second Pass

Got some critique. I will probably get more critique, but here's the second pass. Fixed the perspective and moved the towers around.

                                        

Sketchbook stuff

The afro dude was a fun sketch on my COL class syllabus, and the lady is a re-do of an old drawing, done in graphite and micron pen. I'll rework them a bit later probably...but if not, here they are!

ART 401 Color Comps

Reworked two thumbnails I liked and did color comps.The color "underpaintings" were cool so I put them in as possible options. I honestly can't decide so hopefully class critique will help with that.
